Joan Kanik-Baron, age 56, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Joan was born on July 11, 1956 in Spangler, Pennsylvania. Joan enjoyed a 28 year career as a special needs teacher for HISD and was known for her love of sporting events and frugality. She is reunited with her parents, Edward and Anna Kline Kanik and father-in-law, Paul Baron. Joan leaves us to cherish fond memories, her loving husband, Pete Baron; siblings, Patricia, James, Jean, William, John, Robert, Mariam and Kenneth; mother-in-law, Margaret Baron; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary, Mike, Margaret, Eileen and Susie, 23 nieces and nephews and other relatives, friends and students.
